Snails - Feel The Vibe (feat. Big Gigantic & Collie Buddz)

I had the opportunity to work with Snails, a Canadian EDM producer, on this music video for his song with Big Gigantic and Collie Buddz. The song, Feel The Vibe, is an interpretation of how Snails feels when inspiration hits. Whether he’s in the studio, out with friends, or anywhere else, this project was to be a representation of how he feels when music comes to him.

The song itself, an energetic blend of saxophone, reggae, and electronic music, called for high contrast colors and aggressive, detailed animation. Snails gave me brief descriptions of scenes he imagined, and I created characters and plot lines to match for a total of 3 short animations to be placed in between sections of live action footage. The viewer is shown Snails’ everyday life, then taken through a sort of portal into the animated scenes, showing an eclectic mix of different creatures and environments.
